Effective January 1, 2012, the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 (SB 657) (“California Act”) requires retailers and manufacturers doing business in California to disclose their efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from their product supply chains. Nutramax Laboratories, Inc. and its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively "Nutramax Laboratories") and its employees adhere to the Nutramax Laboratories Human Rights Policy (“Policy”), which is grounded in the Nutramax Laboratories Business Code of Ethics & Conduct (“Code”). Nutramax Laboratories strongly opposes all forms of slavery and human trafficking and is committed to fair employment practices.
In order to achieve this Nutramax Laboratories takes numerous steps, including, but not limited to, evaluating suppliers both before entering into a business relationship and through the course of any such relationship, requiring suppliers to certify that they comply with all applicable laws of the countries where they do business, and using our personnel, as well as third-party auditors, to conduct audits of our suppliers’ facilities to ensure compliance with quality, environmental, health, and safety standards. Additionally, Nutramax Laboratories’ Policy and Code governs the ethical conduct of all Nutramax Laboratories personnel, including employees, directors, officers, and board members ("Employees"). The Policy and Code require Employees to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to human trafficking and slavery, and explains that if an Employee needs guidance on a legal or ethical question or has witnessed or has knowledge of an illegal or unethical activity, he or she should immediately report the matter to his or her supervisor or the Human Resources Department. All concerns relating to potential noncompliance with Nutramax Laboratories’ Policy and Code are promptly investigated. Employees who violate Nutramax Laboratories’ Policy and Code are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Nutramax Laboratories is dedicated to providing our customers with high-quality products that are manufactured in safe, healthy, fair, and non-discriminatory working environments. To that end, we remain committed to ensuring fair employment practices at all facilities and have the same expectations for our suppliers, contractors, and other business relationships.
